Here's how the evening will unfold, in shaa Allah.
6:00 PM
Guest Arrival
Guest arrival and welcome. Please arrive promptly to settle in, find your seats and get comfortable before the entrances begin.
6:45 PM
Wedding Entrances
The celebration begins with the entrance of the groom and families, followed by the bride.
Please note: the groom will be present during the opening portion of the evening. Once he exits, the celebration continues as a women-only event and guests may remove their hijabs.
8:15 PM
Dinner
Dinner will be served. If you require a gluten-free or vegetarian meal, or have any food allergies, please let us know through your RSVP before the deadline so we can accommodate you.
Around 9:00 PM
Shaash Saar
A special Somali bridal tradition celebrating the bride as she enters married life. The bride will change into traditional attire for the Shaash Saar, a meaningful moment where married women welcome and honour her as a newly married woman.
Around 10:30 PM
Somali Dirac
The bride returns in a traditional Somali dirac, celebrating her Somali heritage through one of its most beautiful and recognizable forms of dress.
The Night is Still Young
When does the wedding end? Great question. Come ready to enjoy the night with us, so consider this your warning to book the next morning off. Stay for sparklers and the bride and groom's send off.
